Dear Sena,
This letter comes about a week late, but this time I have a good excuse. We were visiting your cousins and aunt and uncle in Asheville. This was the second time you met Aunt Tanya and Cousin Ella, but the first time that you interacted with them. And, of course, the first time meeting baby Shiloh!
You thought Ella was pretty fun. I think you loved hearing her talk to you, but probably felt a bit intimidated by all of her big-kid skills. No worries, love. Pretty soon you'll be running around chasing her—and Shiloh, too. You and Shiloh are only 11 months apart, which is the same distance as papa from Aunt Tanya. Which makes me want to give Grandma Sheree some serious kudos. Irish twins? I can't even imagine the insanity. No offense honey, but you're a bit of work and I can't really imagine chasing you around with a 4-month-old in arms.
You are walking. That is, if I let you go. You are falling, but for the most part, learning to catch yourself. You've learned "no". Great fun we're going to have with that one I'm sure. Right now, you just think shaking your head no is funny. Your personality comes out more every day. The things you think are funny, the ticklish spots, and your determination to navigate the world. Sometimes I look at you and think, "how can she nearly be a toddler already?" And then I remind myself, that you're my baby. You may "toddle" but you still cuddle in my arms and call me mama.
I love you honey,
love
mama
